Are your venues accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobile disabilities?

Yes! Community of Hope and Cornerstone have ramps and accessible parking for those who need it. Both venues are ground level as well.

How Do You Get to the Venues?

Driving is the easiest way to travel from the hotel to the church and from the church to the reception hall. The reception hall is about 5 minutes from the church. If you do not drive and cannot carpool, Uber and Lyft are readily available in Muncie. Muncie does also have public bus transportation if needed. If driving, we highly recommend utilizing GPS apps or software if you are unfamiliar with the area. For those flying in, the closest international airport in Indianapolis International, which is about 80-90 minutes from Muncie.

Is there parking available near your venues?

Yes! Community of Hope has parking at the southern entrance of the church and some street parking on the northern entrance. Community of Hope is also near the L.A. Pettinger Student Center at Ball State, who has free parking on weekends and has a parking garage. Cornerstone has parking in the rear of the building, and Muncie has street and city parking near the venue for free/a nominal fee.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Everything will be indoors!

Are there reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

No. However, please check our travel tab for recommended accommodations within 11 minutes from both venues. There are also lodging within 30 minutes of Muncie in Anderson, IN and lodging near the Indianapolis International Airport.

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?

Unfortunately, no. However, there are plenty of rideshare services available in the area to get you to and from your hotel. We highly recommend this if you plan on partaking in alcohol with us: we want everyone to have a fun but safe time.

Wedding Dress Code

What is the Dress Code for your wedding?

Semi Formal Attire, please! We want everyone to look their best and feel their best with us! We politely ask for no jeans, t-shirts, or informal shoes (sneakers, flipflops, etc.) for the ceremony. Feel free to bring a change of shoes for the reception!

Are there any colors or styles that are preferred for guests?

Dress nicely and what makes you feel like your best self!

What is the weather like in Muncie?

It's the Midwest and weather can be unpredictable. Traditionally, August is warm and sunny, but can be rainy and humid on some days. Be prepared to potentially transport in rain to and from hotels and venues. The church tends to run cold as well as the reception hall, so be prepared for that. We will update as we get closer and can better predict the weather.

Plus Ones and Children

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Your invitation is addressed to those invited to celebrate with us. While we would love to pack the house, budgets and space restrict how many people that can attend. Therefore, we ask kindly that only the invitees listed attend the event.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

While we understand that you may want your children to take part of the day, we are having a 16+ only wedding and reception with the exception of the wedding party. If you are unable to find accommodations for sitters or cannot travel without your children, we understand that you may not be able to join us, and we hope to celebrate our union with you at a later time.

Menu and Dietary Restrictions

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Mexican food is a favorite date night meal for us, so we want to share that with you! For cocktail hour, we will have an assortment of southwest inspired hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, we will have a self-serve Mexican food bar for street tacos, burrito bowls, and nachos/fajitas. For desert, as they are one of our favorite deserts, we'll be serving cake pops!

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

The nature of the meal style we chose allows for plenty of vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free/dairy-free options. If you have any other restrictions or allergies not listed here, please note that in your preferences when you RSVP. We cannot accommodate for what we aren't made aware of, so please let us know!

Will you be serving alcohol?

Yes! We will have an open bar with a variety of drink selections. We will also have non-alcoholic beverages for those who choose not to/cannot partake.

Wedding Registry and Gifts

What is the link to your wedding registry?

We are blessed to have everything we need in our shared home as we go into our marriage, so we are accepting gifts for our HoneyFund! Please see the link below.

Where should we bring wedding cards/gifts?

We will have wedding card boxes at the reception hall (as well as the ceremony for those who can't attend the reception). If you need our address to send a card or gift, please ask one of us for our address.

Wedding Weekend Itinerary

What is the wedding day itinerary?

The ceremony is from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (EDT) at Community of Hope. We will take a group attendee exit photo following the announcement of the newly wedded couple. A cocktail hour will follow at Cornerstone Center for the Arts from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm (EDT). The reception, including dinner, will begin at 5:30 pm (EDT). The evening will wrap at 9:30 pm.

What time should I arrive at your wedding?

We ask that guests allow some time for parking at the ceremony venue, but please don't arrive more than 30 minutes before the beginning of the ceremony. If you arrive early, feel free to enjoy the decorations of the sanctuary, socialize at the coffee bar near Wesley Hall, or listen to the prelude music as provided by our musicians. Those who arrive late will be able to get seats in the back of the sanctuary or in the balcony if necessary.

When will the reception end? Is there an after-party event?

The reception will end at 9:30 pm (EDT). However, we invite those who are interested to join us at the Chug (409 N Martin St, Muncie, IN 47303) in the village, an old stomping ground of ours in college, at 10:30 PM (EDT).This location is significantly less formal, so we recommend bringing a change of clothes or changing prior to attending. There are plenty of food and drink options in the village that we cherish and recommend, like Greek's, Brother's, and Insomnia Cookies.

Could you suggest places to eat, drink, and see while I am in town for your wedding?

If you're not a mocal (Muncie Local), there's plenty to do and see. If you want to check out Ball State (the Harvard of Muncie as dubbed by David Letterman), you can check out Beneficence, the David Owsley Museum of Art, The Bell Tower, Christy Woods, the Charles W. Brown Planetarium, or any other Ball State sites. For the non college treatment, Muncie has several bars, breweries and restaurants downtown: the Guardian, Savages, and Sea Salt and Cinnamon are some personal favorites of ours. There are also restaurants in the Village (the bar scene of Ball State) and other parts of Muncie. For more sightseeing, Minnetrista is a treat as well as the Muncie Civic Theatre if there are any shows playing! For more information, we recommend googling some stops or asking your hotel concierge.

Other Questions You May Have

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We ask that our guests participate in an unplugged ceremony with us so you are present in the moment as we celebrate our union. We have a photographer who will be taking plenty of photos during the ceremony as well. During the reception, feel free to take as many photos as you want, especially with our garden wall!

Yes! Please post photos of yourself, your friends, and the fun you're having during the reception! Be sure to use our wedding hashtag!

Coming soon!

Will you be livestreaming your wedding?

We do not have plans to livestream the event as of now. If that changes, we will be sure to notify those who cannot be in attendance with us.

What health and safety measures will be in place?

We are monitoring the state of the COVID-19 pandemic closely as the big day approaches (COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses are still prevalent and still a risk, even in 2025). We are not requiring masks or proof of vaccination; however, if you are more comfortable wearing a mask or are immunocompromised, we encourage you to do so as this will not be a small event. We are highly encouraging, however, that you test prior to your arrival to our event to mitigate the spread of any illness. If you are ill, test positive for COVID or the flu or any other communicable diseases, we kindly ask that you do not attend for the safety of those attending.
